Purpose and Mission
The Racial Equity Bridge Team (REBT) exists to create a network of people within a predominantly white Cooperative Parish dedicated to amplifying the voice of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) within and beyond our walls - on all matters that impact our congregations. This includes guiding, educating, coordinating, and providing accountability within our congregations to proactively dismantle racism.
Vision
The REBT believes that our Cooperative Parish can embody a vision in which racism and all forms of discrimination, intolerance and prejudice will be replaced by an all-inclusive spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood.
Main Targets
Our primary goal is to be an advocate for all people who have been racially marginalized within our church and within their communities.
- Commitment to the mission through Christian Celebration
- Education and awareness
- Building relationships and community organizing

Apex UMC Cooperative Parish (4 congregations) has collectively made the decision to become 4 independent churches. Although the congregations are independent, the church leadership across all churches is committed to continuing important community-facing ministries. The Racial Equity Bridge Team (REBT) was a vision of love and justice birthed out of Fiesta Cristiana Mission Congregation. The work of Fiesta Cristiana and Social Justice are inextricably linked. Therefore, the Racial Equity Bridge Team (REBT) will continue to operate as part of Fiesta Cristiana. Thank you in advance for your patience as we reimagine membership, vision, and engagement for 2022 and beyond.
